Monet

Liberty City Gallery is delighted to present this travelling exhibition of works from Impressionist Master Jean Claude Monet. The exhibition has been arranged in conjunction with the world famous Museum D’Orsay in Paris and represents the peak period of Monet’s creative life through the 1860’s.

Monet was born on November 4th 1840. As a young man, he entered the studio Gleyre in Paris and worked alongside Renoir, Sisley and Bazille. The four formed the foundations of the Impressionist group, who changed the face of painting at that time and have had an abiding impact on the way we view painting today.

Mainly concerned with the outdoors, Monet's would work only under the most specific conditions. Courbet said Monet would not paint even the leaves in the background unless the lighting conditions were exactly right. His use of colour, soft evocative lighting and depth of pallet created a lush and vibrant sense of the beauty of nature and his joy in creation.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience some of the greatest art works of our times.
