A flashback to some Ambers during the colder months.⠀ ⠀ I have to agree with @craftypint assertion, that Ambers have the ability to look most enticing in the glass. They conjure the same expectation of a full bodied beverage, as when I'm about to savor a bold Shiraz. But rather than tannins, it's toffee and caramel I'm anticipating.⠀ ⠀ Exit's amber ale was a hoppy take on the style. An AIBA award winner, it also enters 'the grid', alongside the other distinctive Exit cans, as part of the core range. ⠀ ⠀ Unlike Exit's amber, Red Duck's is more on the sweet side. Ballarat is my home town. So I've enjoyed this core beer on more than one dismal, cold and wet Ballarat night. ⠀ ⠀ I don't have years of experience sampling beers and observing the evolution of individual styles. With that in mind, I'm hesitant to assert that the Woodsman is the most true-to-style of the trio. It felt conservative compared to the other two, but more well rounded. It's the one I kept going back to. I'm looking forward to having it again, but on tap this time at my local, @thefarmers_arms. Assuming there's still some left.⠀ ⠀ #amberale #redduck #wolfofthewillows #exitbrewing #thewoodsmanamberale #djrxr6 #craftbeer #askforindiebeer #aussiecraftbeer #beerart #beerstagram #beerstagramers #drinkfresh #craftbeerlovers #australianbeer #indiebrewers #instabeer #beer #snapspeed #indiebeer #independentbeer #beeradvocate
